Depression gripped me, chased me out of the music scene – Mzvee

Ghanaian songstress Mzvee has disclosed why she has been absent from the music industry in the past two years.

The Lynx Entertainment former signee revealed that her battle with “depression” has been the cause of her disappearance from the music scene.

Talking to Berla Mundi on Tv3 (New Day) revealed that she went into a serious depression between the year 2017 and 2018.

“I was super, super depressed in 2017 and 2018” she said

This interview happens to be the first time she is opening up on the cause of her absence from the music scene for the past two years.

The Songstress dispelled all the rumors circulating around that she was pregnant, hence she said it was her decision to quit music in that period.

The dance-hall artist added that she never sought for professional help or therapy amidst her depression.

She revealed that her best friend “Efya” who is fellow fellow female musician has been one person who has helped her throughout her journey of recovering from depression.

Mzvee also acknowledged the role of her family in her recovery.

Above all the singer said she is doing well now and has come back to do music again.

Mzvee is yet to release her first single after her recovery title “sheriff”.
